Sessions 3, 4,7,8
These exciting sessions for older campers are filled with hiking, teambuilding activities, nature discovery, crafts, a trip to Sachuest Point, and a Wednesday evening campfire. Please note the Wednesday schedules for all Explorers weeks.
Explorers is limited to 16 campers per session.
Session Dates
Session 1: June 24- June 28 Session 2: July 1-5 (no camp Thursday July 4th) Session 3: July 8-12 Session 4: July 15-19 Session 5: July 22-26
Session 6: July 29- August 2 Session 7: August 5-9 Session 8: August 12-16
Session Descriptions:
Session 3: Naturalist Challenge:Do you love nature? Do you want to be a naturalist? Here’s your chance to learn how to identify plants and animals found in the Sanctuary’s diverse habitats. As a group we will explore the field, forest, beach, ridges and more.
Session 4: Night Owls: During this action packed week we’ll learn all about nocturnal animals and their adaptations. We’ll complete our camp week by going on hikes, playing games, and conducting experiments.
Session 7: Things with Wings: Join us for a week of high flying adventure. Birds, bugs and even plants; we’ll take a look at nature’s flying machines. Nature exploration and animal encounters will all be part of this action packed week.
Session 8: Nature’s Super-sleuths: Put on your detective hats! This week we will solve mysteries by learning how to identify animal tracks, signs and calls. Traditional camp activities such as crafts, games, experiments and hikes will all be part of part of the fun!

BEFORE AND AFTER CARE
For the busy parent, before care is offered Tuesday through Friday, 8 - 9 a.m. After care is offered Monday through Friday, 3 - 5:30 p.m. Both options are held in the Ed Shed and parents should follow all regular sign out procedures. During this time, campers may participate in their choice of supervised, unstructured activities. We request that you register and pay for extended care in advance. Both options may be selected during online registration.
