THIRD BEACH EDUCATION CENTER: COASTAL CAMPS
(Entering grades 3-5; 6-8)
Monday-Friday 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.
In this popular program, campers have the opportunity to explore tide pools, catch fish and conduct experiments at our newly furbished Third Beach Education Center. Our Coastal Camp is now offered for three different age groups in six one week sessions. Space is limited so sign up quickly! Drop off and pick up will be at the Third Beach Education Center. Campers must wear a NBS Camp T-Shirt when exploring Third Beach.Coastal Institute is limited to 12 campers per session.

Session Descriptions:
Session 2: Sea Shore Safari (Entering Grades 4-6): Join us for a week of seashore adventure! We’ll learn all about animals and plants found along Rhode Island’s sandy and rocky shores. As a group, we will conduct experiments and learn to identify coastal creatures. Traditional camp games, crafts and hikes will all be part of the fun. (FULL)
Session 3: Under the Sea (Entering Grades 2-3): Dive in with us and explore life under the deep blue sea. We’ll learn all about animals and plants that live underwater through exploration, crafts, games, songs and more! (FULL)
Session 4: Wonderful Watersheds (Entering Grades 7-8): Have you ever wondered where your water comes from? We’ll use this week to answer questions about water and water quality right here on Aquidneck Island.
Session 5: Tidepools and Sandy Shores (Entering Grades 2-3): This fun filled session is all about animals and plants found along our shoreline. Traditional camp activities such as experiments, crafts, exploration and games will all be part of the fun! (1 spot left)
Session 6: Life Underwater (Entering Grades 4-6): This week we’ll take a closer look at animals that live under the sea and their many adaptations. We’ll spend days at the shore and in the Third Beach Center conducting experiments, observing wildlife and identifying common marine animals found off our coast. ( (Full)
Session 8: From Land to Sea (Entering Grades 7-8): During this action packed week we will take a closer looks at water’s journey from upland rivers and lakes to coastal waters and the ocean. Each day will focus on a different aquatic or coastal habitat found on NBS’ property. We’ll also include games, crafts, hikes and much more!
Coastal Camps: $245 for Sessions 3-8; $195 for Session 2
Camp fee includes: 2 NBS Camp T-shirts; Campers must wear t-shirts when at Third Beach.
BEFORE AND AFTER CARE
For the busy parent, before care is offered Tuesday through Friday, 8 - 9 a.m. After care is offered Monday through Friday, 3 - 5:30 p.m. Both options are held in the Ed Shed and parents should follow all regular sign out procedures. During this time, campers may participate in their choice of supervised, unstructured activities. We request that you register and pay for extended care in advance. Both options may be selected during online registration.
