FLEDGLINGS (3.5-5yrs) and CHICKADEES (4-6yrs)
Fledglings: Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Chickadees: Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
In our Fledglings and Chickadees program campers will make new friends, explore the Sanctuary’s trails, beach and tide pools, meet education animals, listen to stories, play with puppets, create crafts, and sing songs. Our half day Fledglings program is a perfect introduction to camp for your young learner. Fledglings will now include a supervised lunch time and a few fun afternoon activities. Our Chickadees camp program is now extended until 3:00 p.m. With smaller camp groups and built in quiet time, this program is a great introduction to a whole day camp program for your young child. Both programs are limited to 12 campers per session.
In order to ensure our campers have the best possible experience, all campers must be able communicate verbally and be fully toilet trained.

Session Descriptions:
Session 1: Wild Bunch Take a walk on the wild side. We will learn all about animals found right here on NBS property. Your young camper will hit the trails to look for signs of animals, sing new songs and meet new friends! (Fledglings- FULL; Still Spaces in Chickadees)
Session 2: Splish-Splash!Join NBS as we explore the watery world around us. From puddles to ponds, campers will learn all about animals and plants that live in fresh water. (Fledglings- FULL; Still Spaces in Chickadees)
Session 3: A Bug’s Life: This week, we’ll break out our bug nets and search in fields, under logs and even in the pond for our six legged friends. Games, songs and crafts are all part of the fun. (Fledglings- FULL; Chickadees-Full)
Session 4: Flap your Feathers What makes a bird a bird, do all birds make nests, and where do birds go in the winter? We’ll answer these questions and more as we get to know our feathered friends through games, songs and crafts! (Fledgings- FULL; Still Spaces in Chickadees)
Session 5: Natural Adventures: Each day of this action packed week will feature a nature themed story book. Throughout the day we’ll meet animals, create crafts and sing songs all related to the special book of the day. (Fledglings-1 space left; Still Spaces in Chickadees)
Session 6: The Deep Blue Sea: Get your feet wet during this week, as we learn all about the animals found in our oceans and even some animals found along our coastlines. Games, crafts, hikes and guided nature exploration will all be part of the fun. As with all Chickadees and Fledglings programs, this camp will be based at NBS’ main campus, not the Third Beach Education Center. (Fledglings- FULL Chickadees- FULL)
Session 7: Get Growing! : This week is all about growing up! We’ll learn all about how caterpillars become butterflies, tadpoles become frogs and even how tiny seeds grow into giant trees. (Fledglings- FULL; Still Spaces in Chickadees)
Session 8: Home Sweet Home: Forests, beaches, ponds, ridges and fields. Here at NBS, there are many places for animals to live. Each day we will explore a different habitat in search of animals and their homes. We will also sing songs, play games and make crafts. (Fledglings-FULL; Still Spaces in Chickadees)
Fledglings: $155 for Sessions 1, 3-8; $125 for Session 2
Chickadees: $215 for Sessions 1, 3-8; $175 for Session 2
BEFORE AND AFTER CARE
For the busy parent, before care is offered Tuesday through Friday, 8 - 9 a.m. After care is offered Monday through Friday, 3 - 5:30 p.m. Both options are held in the Ed Shed and parents should follow all regular sign out procedures. During this time, campers may participate in their choice of supervised, unstructured activities. We request that you register and pay for extended care in advance. Both options may be selected during online registration.
