Junior Counselors
Do you know a teen that would like to volunteer at camp?
Attention teenagers entering grades 9-12: Would you like to spend the summer in the great outdoors, working with kids and animals? If so, join the Norman Bird Sanctuary as a Junior Counselor!
All Junior Counselor positions are unpaid; however, community service hours can be earned during each 3 week volunteer position.
Interviews will be scheduled beginning in May. Selected participants must complete an informative training session in June and submit a camp health profile and a copy of a recent physical. Junior Counselors must also agree to abide by the rules of the Norman Bird Sanctuary, complete daily responsibilities as assigned by the Camp Director, Director of Education, and Teacher/Naturalists, and to set a positive example for all NBS campers at all times. The Norman Bird Sanctuary reserves the right to dismiss Junior Counselors who fail to comply with these guidelines.
There will be a $25 materials fee for all participating Junior Counselors. This will help NBS to offset the costs of training materials, food, t-shirts, and other fees.
